Mutual efforts of a training educator and a physician should be aimed at successful acquirement of sports skills by athletes and achievement of high results. As long-term preparation is related with large physical loads and considerable nervous tension, the health of an athlete should be permanently controlled by his/her training educator and physician. These specialists can obtain required information in different ways, and the comparison of data received by a coach and a physician give a more detailed and unbiased idea about the state of health, correctness of the training process or need to make some changes.

The objective of medical support is to create conditions for meeting health and safety requirements of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in record setting sports by means of improving the efficiency of medical and biological as well as scientific assurance of athlete preparation for international competitions. In this regard, medical support has the following tasks:
-current medical biological control of the state of health and functional systems of athletes during the whole period of preparation for important events
-implementation of state-of-the-art techniques for improving sports results without doping
-enhancement of the efficiency of athlete rehabilitation after physical loads and injuries by means of implementing state-of-the-art techniques, selecting and performing individual rehabilitation plans.
We possess a number of methods that, within physician-coach cooperation, are able to provide a coach with additional information and medical recommendations for optimized however safer and less traumatic performance of the training process, for quicker and more effective rehabilitation after training cycles and competitions, for proper and adequate rehabilitation after injuries and surgeries.
